  • 5 Past simple and Present perfect

    Простое прошедшее и настоящее совершенное времена
    1) Если нужно сообщить о чем-то, что произошло в период времени, который длится вплоть до момента речи, используется Present perfect. Если же мы рассказываем о событии, которое произошло в некоторый период времени, закончившийся до момента речи, используется Past simple.

    Scientists have discovered medicines for many diseases this century — Ученые изобрели лекарства от многих болезней в этом веке.

    Scientists discovered medicines for many diseases in the 19th century — Ученые изобрели лекарства от многих болезней в девятнадцатом веке.

    2) И Present perfect, и Past simple используются при описании события, повторявшегося в прошлом. Present perfect предпочтительнее использовать, когда нужно подчеркнуть,что данное событие может произойти еще раз.

    He has written three novels — Он написал три романа (может быть, напишет еще несколько).

    He wrote three novels and died in 1983 — Он написал три романа и умер в 1983 году ( больше уже не напишет).

    3) И Present perfect, и Past simple могут использоваться при описании некоторого состояния или положения дел, имевшего место в прошлом. При этом Present perfect используют, когда данное положение дел по-прежнему имеет место, а Past simple в том случае, если ситуация к моменту речи изменилась.

    I have owned this shop for ages — Я владею этим магазином уже целую вечность.

    I owned a shop when we lived in London — Я владел магазином, когда мы жили в Лондоне.

    а) В репортажах и новостях новые события обычно вводятся в рассмотрение с помощью Present perfect. За ним следут Past simple, с помощью которого даются детали описываемого события.

    б) Часто Present perfect и Past simple комбинируются в контекстах такого типа:

Марлоу активно продолжает расследование и несколько трупов спустя приходит к выводу, что все вокруг - полиция, прокурор, генерал, Вивьен и т. д. - хотят, чтобы он поскорее забросил дело. Упрямство, личные принципы, а главное - все более живой интерес к Вивьен - не позволяют ему подчиниться. Он находит 2-го шантажиста, куда более опасного и вредоносного - Эдди Марса, хозяина игорного дома. Приходится убить сообщника Марса, а потом заманить его самого в ловушку и подставить под пули его же людей. Кармен требуется лечение в больнице, а Марлоу решает лично заняться Вивьен, которая только об этом и мечтает.
       ► 2-й фильм экранной пары Богарт-Бэколл, впервые блеснувшей в Иметь и не иметь, Tо Have and Have Not. Они снова снимаются у Хоукса, для которого эта картина станет единственной вылазкой на территорию нуара. Хоукс демонстрирует большую отвагу, создавая безупречный образец жанра и не скрывая при этом ни на минуту своего полнейшего безразличия к жанру как таковому. Богарт в своей лучшей форме; одно из лучших экранных воплощений Филипа Марлоу - образ человека, привыкшего к действию, но постоянно теряющего равновесие или, вернее, балансирующего на грани между своим моральным идеализмом и реализмом; декадентская и отравленная атмосфера Лос-Анджелеса, города ночного, влажного и безгранично растянутого в пространстве; интрига, ставшая легендарной благодаря своей сложности и запутанности (все создатели фильма признавались, что так и не разобрались в ней целиком); ироничные и живые диалоги, делающие историю более симпатичной и современной по духу - таковы характерные элементы Глубокого сна, сделавшие фильм классическим образцом жанра нуар, хоть он и сильно уступает фильму Из прошлого, Out of the Past или лучшим картинам Сиодмака.
       Доводя до крайности одну характеристику жанра (запутанность действия), Хоукс добивается того, что главным в фильме становятся отдельные моменты и персонажи. В серии особенно удачных парных сцен Марлоу предстает перед нами в окружении женщин: он их отбрасывает одну за другой и обращает все внимание на Вивьен. Благодаря ей интрига, рассказанная целиком и полностью с точки зрения Марлоу, все настоятельнее требует его присутствия. Если и есть в этом фильме подлинное движение вперед, оно связано вовсе не с поиском виновного, а с растущей привязанностью сыщика к собственной истории. Сам Хоукс, показывая это движение, неуклонно сохраняет дистанцию. Его как раз забавляет контраст между все более явной вовлеченностью персонажа в расследование (и в любовные отношения) и отстраненностью его самого, рассказчика, от предмета своего рассказа. Этот контраст порождает динамичность комического свойства. Хоукс придаст ей гораздо большие градус, оригинальность и оторванность от какого бы то ни было жанра в Хатари, Hatari!( обратите внимание, как меняется Джон Уэйн, против собственной воли влюбляясь в Эльзу Мартинелли). Режиссер потому так держится за свой сухой, непринужденный, саркастичный неподражаемый тон, что этот тон позволяет ему оставаться в некотором роде моралистом. Хоукс проповедует отстраненность в искусстве, хотя считает ее недостижимой (и к тому же нежелательной) в жизни.
       N.В. Фильм был завершен в 1944 г., но американская публика увидела его лишь в 1946-м. За это время Хоукс добавил несколько сцен с участием Богарта и Бэколл, в том числе - знаменитый обмен репликами, где в коневодческих терминах идет разговор об акте любви. Британский ремейк, чье действие перенесено в Лондон, снят Майклом Уипнером (1978). Роль Богарта примеряет на себя Мичам, но даже весь его талант не может оправдать существование этого фильма.
       БИБЛИОГРАФИЯ: сценарий и диалоги в сборнике «Film Scripts Two» (Appleton-Century-Crofts, New York, 1971). В сборник вошла окончательная версия сценария, утвержденная к съемкам. Раскадровка после монтажа (609 планов) опубликована в журнале «L'Avant-Scene», № 329–330 (1984).
